関数は、

で指定したストリームから、次の入力キャラクタを(それがあれば)取得するか、
または、

によってそのストリームにプッシュバックされた、次のキャラクタを取得します。

と同じ機能ですが、これはインラインで展開するマクロです。

処理が無事に完了した場合、これらのルーチンはいずれも

から次の要求オブジェクトを返します。ストリームがエンドオブファイルに達
したか、または 読み込みエラーが発生した場合は

を返します。エンドオブファイルかエラーかの識別には、

ルーチンを使用する必要があります。エラーが発生した場合はグローバル変数
