* sccs: Manual changesWarner Losh2023-11-2721-114/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For the uncommon items: Go through the tree and remove sccs tags that didn't fit any nice pattern. If in the neighborhood, other SCM tags were removed when they were detritis of long-ago CVS somehow in the early mists of the project. Some adjacent copyrights stringswere removed (they duplicated the copyright notices in the file). This also removed non-standard formations of omission of SCCS tags (usually by adding an extra #if 0 somewhere. After this commit, a number of strings tagged with the 'what' @(#) prefix remain, but they are primarily copyright notices. Sponsored by: Netflix

* Increase YPMAXRECORD to 16M to be compatible with Linux.Konstantin Belousov2019-08-123-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since YP protocol definition uses the constant to declare variable-size opaque byte strings, the change should be binary compatible with existing installations which do not expose keys or values larger than 1024 bytes. All uses of local variables with YPMAXRECORD sizes were removed to avoid insane stack use. On the other hand, variables with static lifetime should be fine and only result in increased VA use. Glibc made same change, increasing the allowed length for keys and values in YP to 16M, in 2013. * This exposes ZFS user and group quotas via the normalSean Eric Fagan2018-07-051-6/+83
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | quatactl(2) mechanism. (Read-only at this point, however.) In particular, this is to allow rpc.rquotad query quotas for NFS mounts, allowing users to see their quotas on the hosts using the datasets. The changes specifically: * Add new RPC entry points for querying quotas. * Changes the library routines to allow non-UFS quotas. * Changes rquotad to check for quotas on mounted filesystems, rather than being limited to entries in /etc/fstab * Lastly, adds a VFS entry-point for ZFS to query quotas. Note that this makes one unavoidable behavioural change: if quotas are enabled, then they can be queried, as opposed to the current method of checking for quotas being specified in fstab. (With ZFS, if there are user or group quotas, they're used, always.) | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Mainly focus on files that use BSD 2-Clause license, however the tool I was using mis-identified many licenses so this was mostly a manual - error prone - task. The Software Package Data Exchange (SPDX) group provides a specification to make it easier for automated tools to detect and summarize well known opensource licenses. We are gradually adopting the specification, noting that the tags are considered only advisory and do not, in any way, superceed or replace the license texts. Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=326192

Allow for multiple groups of include files to be installed, with the powerful INCSGROUPS knob. Documentation to follow. Added standard `includes' and `incsinstall' targets, use them in Makefile.inc1. Headers from the following makefiles were not installed before (during `includes' in Makefile.inc1): kerberos5/lib/libtelnet/Makefile lib/libbz2/Makefile lib/libdevinfo/Makefile lib/libform/Makefile lib/libisc/Makefile lib/libmenu/Makefile lib/libmilter/Makefile lib/libpanel/Makefile Replaced all `beforeinstall' targets for installing includes with the INCS stuff. Renamed INCDIR to INCSDIR, for consistency with FILES and SCRIPTS, and for compatibility with NetBSD. Similarly for INCOWN, INCGRP, and INCMODE. Consistently use INCLUDEDIR instead of /usr/include. gnu/lib/libstdc++/Makefile and gnu/lib/libsupc++/Makefile changes were only lightly tested due to the missing contrib/libstdc++-v3. I fully tested the pre-WIP_GCC31 version of this patch with the contrib/libstdc++.295 stuff. These changes have been tested on i386 with the -DNO_WERROR "make world" and "make release". * Bring in a hybrid of SunSoft's transport-independent RPC (TI-RPC) andAlfred Perlstein2001-03-193-8/+150
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | associated changes that had to happen to make this possible as well as bugs fixed along the way. Bring in required TLI library routines to support this. Since we don't support TLI we've essentially copied what NetBSD has done, adding a thin layer to emulate direct the TLI calls into BSD socket calls. This is mostly from Sun's tirpc release that was made in 1994, however some fixes were backported from the 1999 release (supposedly only made available after this porting effort was underway). The submitter has agreed to continue on and bring us up to the 1999 release. Several key features are introduced with this update: Client calls are thread safe. (1999 code has server side thread safe) Updated, a more modern interface. Many userland updates were done to bring the code up to par with the recent RPC API. There is an update to the pthreads library, a function pthread_main_np() was added to emulate a function of Sun's threads library. While we're at it, bring in NetBSD's lockd, it's been far too long of a wait. New rpcbind(8) replaces portmap(8) (supporting communication over an authenticated Unix-domain socket, and by default only allowing set and unset requests over that channel). It's much more secure than the old portmapper. Umount(8), mountd(8), mount_nfs(8), nfsd(8) have also been upgraded to support TI-RPC and to support IPV6. Umount(8) is also fixed to unmount pathnames longer than 80 chars, which are currently truncated by the Kernel statfs structure. | | | | | | | | | | | | is generated. It must be installed in both /usr/include/rpc/ and /usr/include/rpcsvc/ for historical reasons. The generated version was once missing ANSI prototypes because the wrong flags were passed to rpcgen, but that is fixed now. The committed version had `#pragma indent' which gratuitously broke K&R support. Apart from this, all versions before and after this commit are identical. Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=33298
* Invoke rpcgen with -C so that headers are created with ANSI prototypes.Bill Paul1998-01-191-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Note: this may cause some problems in a few cases. With very old versions of rpcgen, if you defined a procedure called foo, then rpcen would create client stubs for function foo_1() and server stubs _also_ with function foo_1(). This only worked because of the lack of ANSI prototypes: the client side stub takes different arguments than the server side stub. (The client side takes a CLIENT * handle, while the server side wants an svc_req *.) To fix this conflict, rpcgen in ANSI mode generates foo_1() for the client and foo_1_svc() for the server. RPC server code that depends on the old behavior might break because of this. (Fixing it is just a matter of adding the _svc suffix onto the server procedure names.)
